Das ist Holunder! Man kann aus den Blüten Gelee oder Sirup herstellen. Lässt man die Blüten ausreifen kann man Marmelade oder auch Saft herstellen. Sehr nützlich alles .

Birds use a variety of materials to build their nests, including straw and mud. Here are some details on how different birds construct their nests: Many songbirds like robins, sparrows, and finches build cup-shaped nests by weaving together grasses, twigs, bark strips, and other plant materials. They often use mud or saliva to help bind the materials together[1][4]. Barn swallows gather mud pellets with their beaks and mix it with grass to construct their nests, adhering them to walls or overhangs. They line the mud nests with softer materials like grass and feathers[1][3]. Cliff swallows build their nests entirely out of mud pellets, depositing over 1,000 individual mud pellets one by one to create an adherent cup nest under cliff overhangs[3]. Some birds like killdeer scratch shallow depressions in the ground and line them with pebbles, sticks, and shells after laying their eggs[1]. Hummingbirds construct tiny cup nests bound together with spider silk, camouflaging them with bark and lichen. They use soft materials like plant down and feathers for lining[2]. So in summary, while straw and mud are commonly used nest materials by many species, different birds employ ingenious techniques and material combinations tailored to their specific nesting requirements[1][2][3][4]. French lilacs (Syringa vulgaris) and Japanese lilacs (Syringa reticulata) are both beautiful flowering shrubs, but they have some distinct differences: 1. Size: French lilacs typically grow to a height of 8-15 feet, while Japanese lilacs can reach 20-30 feet tall. 2. Bloom time: French lilacs usually bloom in mid to late spring, while Japanese lilacs bloom in early to mid-summer, about a month later than French lilacs. 3. Flower appearance: French lilacs have smaller, more delicate flowers that grow in dense clusters, while Japanese lilacs have larger, more open flower clusters. 4. Fragrance: French lilacs are known for their strong, sweet fragrance, while Japanese lilacs have a milder scent. 5. Leaves: French lilac leaves are heart-shaped and can grow up to 5 inches long, while Japanese lilac leaves are oval and typically smaller, growing up to 3 inches long. 6. Bark: Japanese lilacs have attractive, shiny reddish-brown bark that can add winter interest to the garden, while French lilacs have gray-brown bark. 7. Growth habit: French lilacs tend to have a more rounded, shrub-like growth habit, while Japanese lilacs are more tree-like with a single trunk. Both types of lilacs are hardy, easy to grow, and make excellent additions to any garden, but their differences in size, bloom time, and appearance make them suitable for different landscaping purposes.

Philadelphia fleabane, scientifically known as Erigeron philadelphicus, is a common wildflower native to North America. This plant belongs to the Asteraceae family, which includes daisies and sunflowers. It typically grows to a height of 1 to 3 feet and features thin, hairy stems adorned with lance-shaped leaves. The flowers of the Philadelphia fleabane are small, measuring about half an inch in diameter, and consist of numerous thin, pale pink or white ray florets surrounding a yellow center disk. These delicate blooms appear from spring to summer and attract various pollinators, such as bees and butterflies. Despite its pleasant appearance, the plant's common name, "fleabane," stems from the historical belief that dried, powdered leaves could repel fleas. While this use is not scientifically proven, the Philadelphia fleabane remains a charming addition to natural landscapes and gardens.

Jewel weed, also known as touch-me-not or impatiens capensis, is a unique plant native to North America. One of its most fascinating features is its seed dispersal mechanism. When the seed pods of the jewel weed mature, they become sensitive to touch. Even a slight brush against the pods can cause them to burst open, ejecting the seeds with surprising force. This explosive seed dispersal can propel the seeds up to several feet away from the parent plant, ensuring the species' spread. Additionally, jewel weed is known for its attractive, drooping, trumpet-shaped flowers that come in shades of orange or yellow with reddish spots. The plant also has a unique ability to repel water due to its waxy coating, causing water droplets to bead up and roll off the leaves, creating a glistening effect that adds to its visual appeal.

Lake Michigan can experience large waves and muddy water near the shore due to a few key reasons: The shallow depth of Lake Michigan causes waves to become steeper and more compressed compared to the open ocean.[1][2] This results in waves that feel like "a series of brick walls" when they crash ashore. The shallow depth also allows the waves to stir up sediment from the lake bottom, making the water appear muddy near the shoreline. Additionally, Lake Michigan is prone to strong winds that can whip up large waves.[2] The long fetches (distances over water that wind can travel unobstructed) allow waves to build in size. Storms can generate waves over 20 feet high on Lake Michigan.[4] The sandy shorelines and presence of sandbars also contribute to the formation of dangerous rip currents and structural currents near piers and breakwalls.[4] These currents can further churn up sediment and create muddy water conditions close to shore. Finally, shoreline erosion from the powerful waves and currents causes banks and bluffs to calve off sediment into the lake.[3] This additional sediment load gets stirred up by wave action, reducing water clarity along the coastline after storm events.[3] In summary, the large size, depth, sandy shores, and exposure to winds of Lake Michigan create an environment conducive to large waves that can kick up muddy water conditions near the shoreline.[1][2][3][4] Sources [1] What's the shore like on the Great Lakes compared to the ocean? www.reddit.com/r/AskAnAmerican/comments/18zd6ff/whats_the_shore_like_on_the_great_lakes_compared/ [2] Are Great Lakes Really Rougher Than Oceans? - Offshoreonly.com www.offshoreonly.com/forums/general-boating-discussion/339730-great-lakes-really-rougher-than-oceans.html [3] Shoreline Erosion: A Complete Guide - Superior Groundcover www.superiorgroundcover.com/shoreline-erosion-a-complete-guide/ [4] A Deep Dive into the Most Dangerous Beaches Around the Great ... www.smithlacien.com/blog/2023/05/a-deep-dive-into-the-most-dangerous-beaches-around-the-great-lakes/ [5] Understanding Strong Currents on Lake Michigan - WZZM 13 www.wzzm13.com/article/weather/understanding-currents-on-lake-michigan/69-0b59d089-3486-4dd2-a3e5-4089fb93fcf4
